Timothy Beardson | China's Future: The Bumpy Road Ahead

The Georgetown International Relations Club is pleased to welcome Mr. Timothy Beardson, China expert.

The Georgetown International Relations Club is pleased to welcome Mr. Timothy Beardson, China expert, successful entrepreneur, Davos World Economic Forum lecturer, and author of Stumbling Giant: The Threats to China’s Future, which presents a bold new look at the economic, financial, political, social, and security-related barriers to China’s much-hyped path to predicted world ascendancy. Boasting over 35 years of experience working in Asia, Beardson founded and led Crosby Financial Holdings, the largest independent investment bank in East Asia, which at its height claimed an annual transaction volume of $20 billion. Following the sale of Crosby, Beardson embraced a new role as Chairman of Ilex Partners, an Asian corporate advisory forum, and remains an active investor and mentor to young entrepreneurs.

Beardson is a frequent commentator on political, economic, environmental, and strategic issues, having addressed the World Economic Forum, UN Development Program, Beijing International Finance Forum, and the Global India and Russia Business Meetings. This lecture represents a rare opportunity to benefit from Beardson’s insights stateside, as he lives principally in Hong Kong. IRC members of all interest areas are welcome to attend and learn more about Beardson’s vision of the future world order and outlook for international affairs.

Copies of Stumbling Giant: The Threats to China’s Future will be made available for purchase.
