I am writing to inform you that the application for the 2017 Lena Landegger Community Service Awards is now available. These awards were established by the Landegger family to honor the memory of Lena Landegger and to recognize Georgetown University students for exceptional contributions to community service. Each year, twenty students are selected to receive the award at a dinner in Riggs Library in late spring.
All Georgetown University undergraduate students are eligible to apply; however, since the selection committee considers only service performed during the student’s undergraduate career, strong consideration is given to third and fourth year students.
Application instructions and the application form can be accessed at https://studentaffairs.georgetown.edu. In addition, you should ask an individual who is familiar with your service to write a recommendation on your behalf. Recommenders do not need to be affiliated with Georgetown University but they should not be students. Letters should come from those who can best describe the applicant’s service work, and be submitted in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org. The applicant’s name should be included in the subject line and the recommender’s title, organization, and contact information in the body of the email. Please address questions to Annie Jackson at email@example.com.
Please note that the application deadline is December 7, 2016 and the deadline for letters of recommendation deadline is December 15, 2016.
Georgetown is a community which proudly reflects the Jesuit commitment to service and the Landegger Awards are an opportunity to recognize the contributions of our students in a meaningful way.
